Support Department Primary

The role of the Learning Support Department is to provide all students who need support in one or more subjects even if they do not fall under special needs. The department deals, for example, with students who come from families where Italian is not spoken or who are behind in their English, assessing their specific needs and creating targeted learning programmes. Through individual lessons or in small groups, they focus on strengthening language skills, whether in Italian or English, in order to fill any gaps and gradually bring them to class level. The department is also committed to providing personalised assistance to students with various levels of proficiency in mathematics. Through individual assessments, teachers identify students’ specific weaknesses and design targeted study plans to resolve them. Tutoring sessions, both individually and in groups, focus on the clarity of concepts, practical application and building a solid mathematical foundation. This type of method encourages active participation by students, promoting confidence in their own abilities and the right approach to the challenges that they face. Through regular monitoring and updates with parents and teachers, the Learning Support Department aims to ensure continuous progress, through overcoming difficulties in specific subjects and the general academic growth of the individual student.
