The Learning Support Department is responsible for assisting all students who require support in one or more subjects, even if they do not fall under the category of special educational needs. The department works, for example, with students from non-Italian-speaking families or those who are behind in their English, assessing their specific needs and creating targeted learning programmes. Through individual or small group lessons, the focus is on strengthening language skills – whether that be in Italian or English – with the aim of bridging any gaps and gradually bringing students up to class level.
The department also provides personalised assistance to students with varying levels of proficiency in mathematics. Through individual assessments, teachers identify students’ specific gaps in their learning and design targeted study plans to address their difficulties. Tutoring sessions, both individual and group-based, focus on clarifying concepts, practical application, and building a solid mathematical foundation. This method encourages active student participation, promotes confidence in their abilities, and fosters the right mindset to tackle individual challenges.
