We follow a complete academic programme, following the Italian ministerial curriculum, while integrating it with significant exposure to the English language. The curricular activities are designed to promote balanced learning in both languages, offering students a diverse and multicultural education.
Students are prepared for the Cambridge English certification, which they can obtain at the end of the primary cycle. We combine the Italian curriculum with a strong focus on the English language, offering students a complete academic education allowing them to choose between an Italian or international education in the future. Within the Italian ministerial programme, students acquire fundamental skills in subjects such as mathematics, science, history, geography and, of course, Italian and English.
Our primary school embraces experiential learning as a pedagogical foundation, with a dedicated space for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and MILC (Media, Information, Language, and Communication) subjects. This space is designed as a dynamic environment where children not only acquire theoretical knowledge, but actively immerse themselves in practical experiences.
STEM labs engage students in hands-on science, technology, engineering, and mathematics activities, promoting problem solving and innovation. In parallel, in MILC labs, children explore the world of communication, from traditional printing to digital publishing, and develop language skills through workshops dedicated to writing, creative reading, and communication through various genres of music, prose, and poetry. This immersive approach aims to prepare students through tangible and interactive experiences. Through them, children are encouraged to explore, discover, and connect the knowledge they acquire with the world around them, thus facilitating meaningful and lasting learning.
At Northlands International, we place a strong emphasis on creativity, which we believe is a key element in harmonious and well-rounded development. We place a strong emphasis on creative subjects such as art, music and drama. These subjects are essential for stimulating imagination, creativity and self-esteem. In art lessons, students discover different techniques and use different materials. Music lessons provide the opportunity to appreciate the beauty and diversity of music over time, from classical, to singer-songwriters to more modern productions, while developing musical skills. Drama is integrated into our curriculum to promote self-confidence and communication skills. Students participate in drama projects that encourage collaboration, creativity and the ability to express emotions through performance. This multi-disciplinary approach to creative subjects reflects our commitment to providing a diverse and stimulating school environment, where every student has the opportunity to explore, grow and express themselves through art, music and drama.
